Daniel W. Cook

Daniel W. Cook, 61, of North Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, at home with his loving family. He was the son of Robert and Virginia (Hedden) Cook born on August 8, 1949.
Surviving are his mother, Virginia and brother, James (Joan) Cook, one niece, Cheryl Cook, three nephews, Michael Cook, Jeffrey (Jennifer) DeRienzo, Mark (Patricia) DeRienzo.
Dan graduated from North Syracuse High School and American School of Drafting. He served in the United States Army and retired from the United States Post Office with 24 years of service with them. Dan was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the family hunting camp in the Adirondacks at Wanakena, and the family's summer cottage at Knobby Knoll, near Sacketts Harbor on Lake Ontario. He also was a fan of local high school and Syracuse University Sports.
Services will be Sunday, 5PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 PM at The funeral home, before services. Graveside services will be Monday at 11AM at the North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Andrews Memorial United Methodist Church endowment fund, 106 Church St., N. Syracuse NY 13212 or Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
