In loving memory of Daniel R. Lakie, born November 30, 1957. Daniel passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He grew up in Camillus, New York the son of the late Genevieve and Robert Lakie, and joined the US Marine Corps shortly after high school. He was honorably discharged in 1979, and met his wonderful wife, Linda, whom he married on February 25th, 1984 at Sacred Heart Basilica. He raised a family, worked at National Grid (formerly, Niagara Mohawk) for 23 years, was a member of the American Legion, was part of the congregation at the Vineyard Church with his wife, and spent his free time hunting and fishing with his sons.
Daniel is survived by his wife: Linda Lakie; his children: Nicole (Jeremy) Rossi, Daniel (Courtney) Lakie, William (Marie) Lakie, and Theresa (Salvatore) Prince; his grandchildren: Noah and Nathaniel Rossi, Dominic Prince, and a granddaughter expected in May; two brothers, Robert Lakie and Mark (Erin) Lakie; a sister, Sandra (Kevin) Kelley; many sisters- and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be 10 AM on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse, New York. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, New York. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street.
