Daniel R. Boylan Jr.

June 21, 1968 — December 21, 2023

Daniel (Danny) Boylan Jr. of Utica NY, was born on June 21, 1968 in Syracuse. He passed away on December 21, 2023 after a long and brave battle with cancer.

Danny was predeceased by his father Daniel Boylan Sr. and his half brother Eric Boylan.

He is survived by his mother Soon Ok (Hong) Teague; his four children Evan, Kaylee, Marlee and Shane; his former wife Connie; his sister Teresa Demko and his brother in law William; his nieces, Mila and Kaia Demko; his half sister Nichole Boylan; his two cats, LiLi and Shadow; his loyal friends Chris and Kate Fernandez and his entire Pawn King family; his longtime friends, Tom Moeller and Jimmy Blenn. Danny's reach was far and wide. He touched so many lives that it would be impossible to list everyone that meant so much to him. He was especially touched by all that reached out and visited him in his final days. Each of those visits lifted his spirits and brought a smile to his face.

Danny graduated from West Genesee High School and went on to Onondaga Community College to earn his Associates Degree. He met Connie in 1995 and they married in 2005. Together they had four amazing children. Their paths took a different turn but they continued their relationship as loving friends and parents to their children. Connie along with his sister, Teresa, were at his side when he left this life.

Danny's greatest joy was for his children. He loved seeing so much of himself in each of them. With Evan, he shared his artistic ability. With Kaylee, he shared his strong will and determination. With Marlee, he shared his quick wit and creativity. With Shane, he shared his kind heart and selflessness. He loved them more than anything and was so proud of each of them. He would have moved mountains if needed to keep his children safe and happy.

Danny worked as a manager at Pawn King for the last decade. He was very proud and devoted to his position. Danny worked for as long as he could during his illness, never wanting to let his team down. He was blessed to have his Pawn King family and their unwavering support for him and his children is immeasurable. The entire team at Pawn King rallied around Danny, organizing a benefit for him in hopes of him beating this disease. Their love and appreciation for him can never be accurately described and he felt that love. He loved Chris and Kate and his entire staff and referred to them all as family.

We ask that when you think of Danny, instead of sorrow, think of the last time you played pool with him, when you went fishing with him on his boat or when you took part in one of his new "hobbies". Remember Danny for his quick wit and sense of humor, selflessness and generosity. Cancer took so much from us all and Danny wanted only to be remembered by our fond memories of him.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to The Abraham House of Rome where Danny spent his final days. We are forever grateful for the compassion, care, respect and dignity that all of his caretakers provided to him and the support they provided to his family. Also to Hospice & Palliative Care for providing him comfort in his final months. Honoring Danny's wishes, there will be no service. In his memory, donations may be sent to The Abraham House, 417 North Washington Street Rome, NY 13440.
