Cynthia Marie (Davis) Levandowski passed away peacefully in her home on February 21, 2023. She was born on March 30, 1947 to Robert E. and Angeline Davis in Syracuse, NY. Cyndy Lou or Lou Lou, to those who knew and loved her, attended St. Rose de Lima and graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1965.
Professionally, Cyndy was a hair stylist in several shops in the Liverpool and Baldwinsville area. She loved her regulars and that love was reciprocated, never more obviously than the messages she received when the news of her impending retirement reached them. Painting was Cyndy's passion, and she used that passion to beautify our world. In addition to traveling the country to learn new techniques, she taught lessons in several mediums, operating both Stroll and Tole and Finishing Touches by Cyndy. Her work won awards at the New York State Fair, was featured in The Parade of Homes, and was displayed at the Fairmount Public Library.
She was truly a creative soul. Cyndy loved repurposing old furniture, using her artistic flair and skills to turn outdated pieces into family heirlooms. Cyndy adored her grandsons, never happier than being their loudest cheerleader at sporting events or playing chauffeur to doctor and dentist appointments. Her favorite activities included gardening, antiquing, decorating, traveling, and dancing to live music.
Cyndy Lou is survived by her daughters Cortney (James) McAloon of Camillus, Brooke (Bakita) of Rochester, and Andrea of Lakeland; her grandsons Sawyer, Mason, and Riley McAloon of Camillus; and grandfurbabies Captain, Gypsy, Gaia, and Megatron. She cherished her role as the "bonus cool mom" to the friends of her daughters, both new and old. She is predeceased by her brother Robbie Davis and son-in-law Frankie Delaurie.
Family and friends are invited to call at the New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY on Saturday, February 25th from 2pm to 4pm.
Interment will be private at the St. Lawrence River on a later date.
