Cynthia Labelle, 50, of Syracuse, entered God's Kingdom of Heaven on Monday.
She was a loving mother, friend, and co-worker. Above all, she loved her daughters.
Cindy graduated from LeMoyne College in 1990 and earned her nursing degree from Crouse School of Nursing in 2009. She worked for many years with senior adults at The Salvation Army, and then worked as a nurse at Upstate Medical University.
Cindy loved people, and helping others brought her great joy. She also loved traveling to other countries, gardening, and enjoying the outdoor beauty of Central New York in every season.
Cindy leaves to cherish her memory the two brightest lights of her life, her daughters Jolene (Thomas Armstead Jr.) and Cherisa; mother, Rose Commonda; nephews, Andrew and Evan, and many family and close friends. Cindy battled her cancer with everything she had, and showed the same level of determination, resiliency, and humor in her passing as she did in life.
She was a bright light in the world and she will be missed.
Calling hours will be Sunday, 3pm-4:30pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212 with a service to follow.
Interment will be private.
Contributions may be made in Cindy's memory to the Susan G. Komen Assistance Program.
