Curt, 71, from Cicero, NY was born and raised in Corning, until his family moved to Oswego, NY where he spent his teenage years before a tour in Vietnam.
He served and sacrificed for his country, before he served and sacrificed for his family. A true patriot and devoted family man. He lived his passion. Driving eighteen wheelers. It's all he ever wanted to do. He had been employed by Clinton's Ditch Pepsi for 32 years. Retirement wasn't a word in his vocabulary. He gave everything of himself to make people happy. He had an insatiable zest for life. The only thing he loved more was his family. And if you were his friend, then you were his family too. He had a smile, a hearty handshake, or a hug for everyone he met. He was never short on a joke, an encouraging word, or finding a way to brighten someone's day. He enjoyed racing, flying across Oneida Lake in his power boat, poker runs, road trips, movie nights, cookouts, and could recount just about every restaurant and coffee shop within hundreds of miles. Including waitresses and most cooks that work in those places too. His enthusiasm was infectious, no one was a stranger. He built relationships, created his own community, everywhere he went. Most of all, his family was his life. And his mission was to remind them of that daily. He loved his church family, was a praying man, and covered everyone he knew in prayer. He always saw the good in people and wasn't one to be drawn into gossip. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone, he was blind to the shortcomings of others. Curt loved and accepted people just the way they were. He lived by his church's motto, 'Come as you are and be loved.' The world was a much brighter and happier place with him in it. God was pleased with him, the good and faithful servant that he was. So he called him home to reap upon him the exquisite rewards he's so deserving of. Although our lives will never be the same. We rejoice for Curt, despite our broken hearts.
