Craig D. Cross

Craig D. Cross, 71, of Baldwinsville, passed away January 26, 2023. Craig was born in Johnson City, New York on May 9, 1951 to Glenn and Dorothy Cross. He was a graduate of Vestal Senior High, Class of 1969. He studied the Criminal Justice program at SUNY Oswego and then went on to attend at the New York State Regional Police Academy. Craig began in 1973 where he spent his career with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department and retired after 46yrs of service. He was a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, reading, movies, collecting movie memorabilia, riding his Harley Davidson, and attending the monthly get together's at Dunkin Donuts with his fellow retired Deputies. Craig was a comedian who was always joking with those he loved. He was a train enthusiast and a movie buff that traveled to movie locations especially the Lizzie Borden House, The Field of Dreams, and The Somewhere in Time Hotel.

He was preceded in death by wife, Susan L. Cross; parents, Glenn and Dorothy Cross.

Craig is survived by his loving companion, Linda Russo; children, Tiffany (Randall) Cross, Heather (Tammy) Cross, Courtney (Andrew) Ashbarry, Ashley Cross, and Alec (Marwa) Cross, ; grandchildren, Danny, Kyra, Andy, Lyndsey, Aden, and Tate; sister, Shelley (John) Campbell; brother, Michael Cross; nephew, Max Cross; nieces, Stephanie, Lyndsay, and Erin Campbell.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 5-7PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. Memorial contributions may be made in Craig's memory to Meals on Wheels, 76 Canton St, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
