Corey J. Emmons, 58, of Central Square, passed away on Tuesday at the VA Medical Center. He was born on February 6, 1955 in Syracuse. Corey served in the US Navy and last worked at A & E Transport in Oswego. On October 14, 1978 he was married to Karen Burden. He enjoyed H.O. Trains and loved entertaining children by dressing up as Barney the Dinosaur.
Surviving are his wife, Karen, 2 sons, Wayne, Christopher, 2 daughters, Vicky & Emily Emmons, 2 grandchildren, Airen, Aiden, 1 brother, Hollis Harris, 2 sisters Linda Johnson & Marie Petell. He was predeceased by his parents, his biological mother, Mable Petell, his adopted parents, Nearing & Antoinette Emmons.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services to follow.
