Clayton W. Hayes, 79, of North Syracuse passed away Thursday. Born in Chittenango he was a Foreman with Niagara Mohawk for 25 years, retiring in 1988 and was a transporter with Avis Rent-A-Car. Clayton was a veteran of the Army-Air Force and a member of the Cicero American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; Freida (Miles) Hayes, a son from former marriage; Clayton J. Hayes, five step-daughters; Linda Dalaba, Bonnie Graham, Carla (Gerald) Brang, Jacqueline (David) Deyo and Sandra Farner, two step sons; Terry L. Dalaba and Chris Dalaba, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Services will be held on Monday at 10 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday from 1-4 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 N Main St., North Syracuse.

Contributions in Clayton's name may be made to Hospice of Central New York.
