Claudia 'Peggy' O. Heard, 68, of Liverpool, passed away on Monday. She was born April 27, 1943 in Bowman, GA daughter of Leonard and Clara Mayfield, Sr. Peggy worked for over 25 years at Anheuser Busch in Baldwinsville. On May 9, 1959 she married George Heard in Elberton, GA. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #38, member and usher of the Southern Missionary Baptist Church. Peggy was an avid bowler and softball player in her early years. She also enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her husband, George, a son Darrel (Emy) Heard, three daughters, Denise Singletary, Cheryl (Reginald) Hogans, Andresea (Carl) Heard, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, three brothers Leonard Jr., Joseph and Columbus Mayfield.
Services will be held on Friday 2 pm at Southern Missionary Baptist Church. Calling hours will be held this Friday from 12-2pm at the church. Burial will take place in Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery, Bowman, GA.
Contributions may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Syracuse or to the family.
