Clarence Frederick (Fred) Goodson Jr. of Cicero, NY passed away on Wednesday after a long illness.
Fred was born in Syracuse, NY on 1/30/44 to the late Clarence Goodson Sr. (Tex) and the late Margaret Goodson. He attended North Syracuse Schools and retired after many years from Cottet's Welding in Syracuse. Fred was a past Grand Knight with the Bishop Curly Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past Captain with the North Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department. Fred was an avid hunter and fisherman for many years.
In addition to his parents, Fred is predeceased by his first wife Donna, second wife Debra and his brother Richard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his oldest son Clarence (Rick) Goodson and wife Cindy, son Edward Goodson and wife Laura, son Caleb Goodson and fiancé Lorraine Beziley, brothers William (Marylou), Phillip (Maria), Mark (Roxanne) and his sister Cynthia. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Zachary, Kassidy and Cameron Goodson as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Rosa Lima on Monday at 10am with burial at North Syracuse Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather at the church for a reception following the burial.
Calling hours are 2 – 5 pm on Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home in North Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the North Syracuse Volunteer Fireman's Association, P.O Box 11, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
