Clarence €œGene” Zinsmeyer

September 15, 1931 — February 24, 2017

Clarence "Gene" Zinsmeyer, 85 of Syracuse, passed away at his home.

He retired from the Navy in 1970 where he was a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Gene was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating.

He is survived by his daughters, Tami Gibbons and Lynda (Peter) Mino; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Barbara (David) McLoughlin; one niece, one nephew and his beloved cat, Gabby. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Veronica (Guyette) Zinsmeyer; parents, Eugene and Norma Zinsmeyer of Cicero, NY and his loyal Yorkie, KC.

Calling hours will be on Friday 4-6PM at New Comer Funeral Home with a Military Honor Guard Ceremony to follow.

A private burial will be held at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the HumaneCNY, 4915 West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088 in Clarence's honor.
