Cindy A. Marion

Cindy A. Marion of Baldwinsville died Thursday at the Francis House. A native of Fulton, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Melva Bafus. She was predeceased by a sister Carol Cochran.
These are some of the things I knew about Cindy:
Cindy believed that all people were worth caring about. She loved her family so much and despite the conflicts and disagreements people may have, she felt that families belonged together and they should love and care for each other. Nothing was more important to Cindy then the welfare of others, and in her final hours; she spoke of the love for her sons, her sisters and her precious grandchildren.

When we first started out, she was able to take empty rooms and bare walls and turn them into homes. In our last home together, she created the greatest home of them all, full of warmth, beauty and wonderment and no other place I know could be like our home. And in this home, she became such a wonderful cook and many times, she would surprise me with a gourmet meal. She really loved to cook for others and regardless of what she made; the main ingredient was love, because to Cindy, this too was a part of what a home should be.

One of her greatest passions was gardening and of all the gardens of the world, to me, there are no gardens quite like Cindy's gardens. The land was her constant companion and the trees, the bushes, the flowers and all the rest became her friends. And they grew strong and tall with the touch of her loving hands and every year they returned to her, stronger, taller and more beautiful than ever. So much of her physical strength went into this masterpiece of the earth and one day towards the end, when her body was so weak, I looked out into the gardens and saw her struggling to plant some new bushes. I went out and she handed me the shovel and together we dug the earth to add one more brush stroke to her beautiful paintings. Next spring when the gardens bloom again, they will surly miss their friend, but if there is any way possible, they will somehow find her again.

In Cindy's last days, she never complained about her condition and her only concerns were of me and of her family and of others. I am humbled by this experience, but I am so much a better man because of knowing her and she will always be my inspiration.

Cindy,
In the place that you are, I can only hope that there are beautiful gardens for you and I will do my very best to maintain yours. You are on my mind at this very moment and I will never stop loving you.
Charlie
