Christopher W. Bane
June 29, 2014

Chris passed on Sunday after a short and brief battle with cancer. After working in NYC for several years as a waiter, he concluded his career at the Ramada Inn in Liverpool. He truly enjoyed working there and will miss his fellow employees, beloved and loyal customers.

Chris was born on March 9, 1957 in Weymouth, MA to the late William and Gloria (Furbush) Bane. He graduated from John F. Kennedy HS in Bellmore, NY. Chris then attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Mike Bane Poughquag, NY, Patricia (Gene) Curran Huntington, NY, Joanne (Jim) Bradford Middletown, NY and Kevin (Cindy) Bane Cicero, NY. He will also be missed by his several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Chris will also be missed by his cat Jimmy and Midge Church and family. He considered them his family as well. Chris's family appreciates all the love and support Midge has provided over the years.

Chris wanted to extend a special "Thank You" to Bill W., the Palliative Care team at Crouse, along with the nurses on 5 south who he grew to love and appreciate for the care and support they provided for him and his family during this difficult time. Chris decided to donate his body to Upstate Medical for research, stating "He wanted them to be able to learn from him."

Calling hours will be 4-7PM on Wednesday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Crouse Hospital Palliative Care Service in Chris's name.
