Christopher F. Tafel, Jr.

Christopher F. Tafel, Jr., 77, of N. Syracuse, passed away on Sunday with his family by his side. Chris was a lifelong resident of N. Syracuse. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked with the North Syracuse Police Department for many years and later retired from Syracuse University. Chris enjoyed old cars and spending time with family and friends at their camp.

Chris was predeceased by his parents and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sonja (Halvorsen); three children, Christopher F. (Stephanie) Tafel III, Julie (Jeff) King and Jeff Tafel; three grandchildren, Christopher F. Tafel IV, Matthew King and Natalie King; sister, Ethel Wig and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 7PM.

Chris will be dearly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, the local SPCA or Humane CNY.
