Christine (Chris) Dobrovolsky Lounsbury, 62 of North Syracuse, NY, has left this earth to wear her wings on 02/23/18 after a 6 ½ yr battle with triple neg breast cancer and the demons & stigma of bipolar mental illness.
After a lengthy recent hospitalization, Chris' last days were spent at home where she took her last breath on 02/23/18..
Chris was born 12/13/1955 in Endicott, NY to Raymond J. and Joan A. (Sampson) Dobrovolsky. She is a graduate of Bishop Grimes High School Class of 1974. She went on to earn a degree/certificate in [Business] from CCBI. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Marine Midland/HSBC Bank, and as a Transcription Operator for CSD Relay.
She was an avid SU Basketball Fan and enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping, wine tours and attending every possible function that her nephews & nieces were involved in. Chris was an active volunteer for various organizations and a regular attendee of 93Q Amy's Slumber Parties. Chris was the family photographer and her annual memory scrapbooks of many a family camping trip will be now more cherished than ever.
Chris is survived by her siblings Deb Boland of E. Syracuse, Kathy & Bud Thompson of Baldwinsville, Ken & Mary Beth Dobrovolsky of Baltimore, MD; Mary & Andy Gibson of Houston TX; Jim Dobrovolsky of Fulton, her ex-husband Mark Lounsbury of Camillus, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers. She was predeceased by her parents Ray & Joan Dobrovolsky, as well as her beloved cat, Scorch.
Chris' wishes of no calling hours or formal services are being honored. The scattering of her ashes & those of her beloved "Charlie" will be when "the River" unfreezes later this year.
In lieu of flowers, please be kind to someone. Call a friend or relative you haven't reached out to recently. Visit a shut-in or nursing home resident. Forgive someone. Thank a police officer or fireman who protects your town. Buy a cup of coffee or meal for a Veteran or current service man/woman. Stop and give something to someone who may be down on their luck. Be accepting of others and become a promoter of random acts of kindness any time you get a chance to pay it forward.
Chris' sister Kathy wishes to extend her gratitude to the folks of Comfort Care 247, LLC; Hospice of CNY; staff of Upstate Regional Cancer Center, Upstate Medical Ctr & Upstate at Community General, pharmacists at Walgreens and all those who took the time to visit Chris in the hospital & at home especially over the past 7 months.
