Christian J. Puccini
August 18, 2012
Today we had to say goodbye to the love of my life, Christian Puccini, so he can move on to a better life after a long battle with brain cancer. He stayed strong and fought hard from the first day of diagnosis and never gave up.
Christian was born in Bristol, England, but lived the first 20 years of his life in La Spezia, Italy, before returning to England to attend college. He moved to the United States in 2000 and was
employed at RobsonWoese Inc. (now GHD), a job he enjoyed very much.
Chris was an extremely loving person and had many qualities that will be longed by all who knew him. He will be enormously missed by his wife Gisela Puccini, his stepdaughter Kim (and
partner Josh with his daughter Kiara), his stepson Billy (and partner Nicole) and his stepdaughter Melissa (and partner Jess).
He will also be greatly missed by his family in Europe: mom Pauline in Bristol, England, his dad Giorgio and his two very loving brothers, Garry (with wife Viviana, and very much loved nephew, and soon to be dad, Ronnie with partner Raffaella) and Simon in La Spezia, Italy.
He also leaves two very special friends, Mark from Bristol, England, and Tony and Sarah with
children Bella, James and much adored goddaughter Mia, from Ireland.
I would like to thank my children for always being by my side during this difficult time, Christian's family from Europe for spending precious time with him and helping with his care, his friends Mark, Tony and Sarah for the lovely visits. I must also thank our neighbors Cathy and Bob for helping out whenever needed, my friends at the VA and the VA itself, as my employer,
for allowing me to stay with Chris until the end and for all the acts of kindness we received during Chris' fight with cancer.
Chris left in peace, in the knowledge that he was able to see and say goodbye to everyone he loved.
Finally, thank you to Dr. Thomas Coyle at Hill Medical Center, who wholeheartedly followed Chris throughout his illness, to Dr. Hahn and Dr. Carter at Upstate and to Jane and Cathy from
Hospice.
Funeral arrangements will be private and there will be no calling hours.
Chris' ashes will be spread at a later date in some of his favorite places around the world.
You will always be with me Chris, in my heart and soul for eternity.
Thank you for giving me the best 15 years of my life…until we meet again.
Gisela Puccini
