Cheryl L. "Joanne" Barnes, 57, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home on Saturday. Cheryl grew up in Baldwinsville. She was an avid animal lover. She is predeceased by a daughter, Heather; mother and father, Reva and Jackie Cole and a sister, Marsha.
Cheryl is survived by her longtime companion, Edward; 2 children, Shawn (Denise) and Melissa; former husband, Gary; 5 grandchildren, Mark, Erika, Sierra, Jason and Savannah; 4 siblings, Connie (Donald), David, Jack (Linda) and Jeff (Mindy) and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 7PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Association of CNY, PO Box 38, 4915.5 W. Taft Road, Liverpool, NY 13088.
