Charlyne B. "Chaz" Filapello, 68, of Kirkville, was called to be with her parents, John M. and Barbara J. Filapello after a brief illness. Charlyne retired from Upstate Medical Center after 36 years. She spent her retirement years caring for her mother, and later, Cheryl Erway's mother, Lillian Larkins, and volunteered at Sunnyside Care Center for a brief time. She was a fan of oldies music, enjoyed dining out with friends, and was well traveled.
Surviving are 2 brothers; John (Leslie), of Florida, Vincent (Karen), of Liverpool, 2 nephews; Spark & Eric, many friends she made part of her life, along with her lifelong friend, Cheryl Erway and her 2 cats: Precious & Chloe.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with a brief service to follow.
Contributions, in lieu of flowers may be made to Sunnyside Care Center, 7000 Collamer Rd., E. Syracuse, 13057
