Charles Walter Hawthorne, 64, of Liverpool was born January 19, 1944 in St. Paul, MN. He died June 28, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Charles spent 21 years in the Air Force and retired as TSGT. After retirement he worked for Centro Bus Co. from 1985-1995 when he became disabled after cancer surgery. He was a devoted Christian and served in many capacities at Buckley Road Baptist Church.

Charlie is survived by his wife Lynne W., two sisters; Diane Berglund and Sandy Smith both of MN, his children; Diana Spier, James Hawthorne, his step-children; Bonnie Scripa and Timothy Hartigan as well as 10 grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main Street, North Syracuse. Services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday at Buckley Road Baptist Church followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions for his wife, Lynne, will be received at Buckley Road Baptist Church.
