Charles Schramm Soper Sr., 73, of Verona, NY, passed away Thursday with family at his side. He was born in Newark, NY to Robert and F. Marie Soper. Charles was a RN, College Professor and Administrator with the State of NY. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club and the Kentucky Colonels. He enjoyed golf, gardening and spending time with his family. Charles is predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Carol Brooks; his three children, Carey (Brian) Harpp, Chaz (Erin) Soper and Joseph (Laurie) Soper; Carol's three children, Marie Tynon, Paul (Flavia) Martin and Rick Martin; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Gale (Bob) Pallisard; a brother, Matthew (Joan) Soper; several nieces and nephews; and special pets, Ella and Katie Scarlett.
Calling hours will be Monday from 5-8PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street North Syracuse, New York 13212. To keep with Charles' wishes, there will be no services.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Verona Volunteer Fire Department.
