Charles S. Holmes Jr., 88, of Baldwinsville, passed away Saturday. Born in Earlville, NY he was a Master Sergeant in the US Army during WW II serving in New Guinea. He retired from Mobil Oil Co. Charles was a past member of Centerville Lodge #648 F&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies – Valley of Syracuse, Tigris Temple Shrine & its Band, Charter Member of the North Syracuse Optimist Club, American Legion Post 916 in Antwerp, NY.
He is survived by his children; Charles S. Holmes (Nadine) III, Carol A. Kessler and Mary Patricia Pitts (Richard), a step-sister; Nancy Walker, six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Calling Hour will be held on Wednesday from 4-5 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to the Shrines' Children's Hospital.
