Charles E. Russell, 93, of Syracuse, NY passed away on April 9th at St. Camillus.

Charles was born in Williamsville, NY on March 24, 1929, son of Charles W. and Mildred C. Russell.

For many years, he served on the Town Boards in both Westmoreland and Sandy Creek.

He was a lifetime member of the Sandy Pond Sportsman's Association and was a consummate volunteer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a dedicated conservationist. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and was a member of the American Legion.

Charles started his career as an engineer for the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit. He moved back to the Utica area and worked for General Electric, then finished his career working for the NYS Equalization and Assessment Industrial and Utilities Valuation Bureau. He retired after 21 years of service.

He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse, NY.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Annmarie (Mather) of 65 years and his sister, Clara Mae Sayler.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Kenneth) Lantz, Theresa (James) Fahnestock, Millie (William) Grace, Charles W. (Bonnie) Russell and Joseph (Ismene) Russell; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 2nd 11am at St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse with burial to follow in Onondaga Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assocation
