Charles L. Tifft, Sr.

Charles L. "Rusty" Tifft, Sr., passed away on Friday at the VA Medical Center. He was born on September 18, 1923 in Sandy Creek. He served in the US Army during WW II, where he earned many medals. He retired from Syracuse China and was a lifetime member of the Salt City VFW Post # 348. Rusty enjoyed watching Old Westerns and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife Betty Jean of 44 years, 4 sons: Charles E. "Cody" (Violet), Charles, Jr., Michael & Anthony Tifft, 3 daughters: Dora (Skip) Higgins, Christine (Jerry) Kiely, Kimberly Tifft, sister, Lorretta Fralick, 27 grandchildren many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Friday 10am at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
