Charlie H. "Sonny" Hughes, 83, of N. Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday at home surrounded by family. He was born on December 2, 1928, son of Charles E. and Alice Hughes. Charlie served in US Navy, last worked at Goldberg's Furniture and was an SU Basketball Fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara in August of 2000.
Surviving are 3 daughters; Janet (Charlie) Crook, Ms. Debra LaPoint, Lisa (Jason) Fleming, 6 grandchildren; Chuck Hinman, Sue Hinman, Michael LaPoint, Stefani Revette, Ryan Revette and Tyler Fleming, 4 great grandchildren; Jacob LaPoint, Natalie LaPoint, Marcus James & Zoe James, along with 3 sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Service will be held on Monday 10am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in North Syracuse Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY.
