Charles Elling, 81, passed away on October 16th, 2022 with his loving staff by his side. Charles was born in Rochester, NY on July 3rd, 1941 to Clara Elling.
Charles had a large OPWDD family and was loved by everyone he met. Charles was at Newark State School from 1950-1967. He then was transferred to Syracuse Developmental Center, where he resided until 1994. Charles then moved to Totman IRA and resided there until he moved to Marcia Street IRA in 2008.
Charles was a force to be reckoned with, as he made his presence known. He was always feisty, but lovable. Charles will forever be remembered as being loud and set in his ways.
Charles will forever be part of the Marcia Street IRA family, and no doubt, bring a smile to everyone's face whenever he is thought of.
He will be watching from above, eating meat, potatoes, drinking iced tea, listening to Gene Autry and watching his westerns.
There will be a graveside service for Charles on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, 1pm at Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
