Charles E. Gorman, 80, of Cicero passed away Thursday surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse, he was a Police Officer with the Syracuse Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Syracuse PBA, Police Retirees and he retired from the Post Office in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Helen (Barry) Gorman, his three sons; Thomas (Annette) Gorman of Syracuse, NY, Patrick (Jody) Gorman of Cicero, NY, Michael (companion, Michele) Gorman of Wolcott, CT, his daughter; Karen (David) Stevens of Bear, DE, a sister; Anne (John) Zbikowski of Syracuse, NY and eight grandchildren; Nicole Gorman, Amy Hanavan, Corinn & Matthew Gorman, David & Adam Stevens & Meaghan and Ryan Gorman.
Services will be held 9:30 AM, Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, from 1-4 PM, at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main Street, North Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Oncology Unit, 1-8, Syracuse, NY 13203.
