Charles E. Filsinger

October 24, 1930 — April 13, 2012

Charles E. Filsinger, 81, of Liverpool, New York died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Oswego Hospital.

An avid golfer, Chuck was a member of Greenview Golf Club and enjoyed woodworking. He was a life member and former Chief of Belgium Cold Spring Fire Department. Charlie was a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 113, Baldwinsville, New York.

He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Hise Filsinger in 2006, a brother, Robert Filsinger in 1996 and a grandson, James Filsinger who died in 1993.

Surviving are his children, Carol (Alan) Scalzo of Baldwinsville, New York, Joyce Filsinger of Tuscon, Arizona and David (Melinda) Filsinger of Canastota, New York; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 4-7 PM with services to follow at 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, New York.

Contributions may be made to Belgium Cold Spring Fire Department, 8435 Loop Road, Baldwinsville, New York 13027.
