Charles E. "Charlie" Charland, 81, of Cicero, passed away on Friday at his home, after a long illness.

Charles was born October 17, 1933, in Saranac Lake, the son of Loris and Pansy Charland. He was employed at American Freightways in East Syracuse for many years. Charlie enjoyed his camp in Osceola, four wheeling, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia on July 14, 2014, his son Robert Charland in 1995 and son-in-law, Jack Kirkpatrick.

Survivors include his daughters; Kalene Kirkpatrick, Brenda (Richard) Romeo, Melissa Charland (Richard Grosso), son Loris Charland, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.

Services will be held on Thursday 10am at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Hospice of CNY.
