Cathy Jeanne Hyslop, age 63, of Syracuse, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold "Bert" and Rebecca Hyslop, Sr.; sister, Judy Holland; and brother, Harold "Harry" Hyslop, Jr.
Cathy is survived by her furbaby Mo-Mo; her loving children, Rebecca Bishop and Stefanie (Tom) Owens; grandchildren, Monica and Tyler DaSilva, Megan and Morgan Curriden, and Skyleigh Owens; great-grandchildren, Austin DaSilva; brother, Nick (Joanne) Hyslop; sister, Julie (Mike) McDorman; and best friend, Ellen York.
Cathy earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. She was a homemaker for many years and a loving and supportive mother. She enjoyed reading, collecting books and playing word-games in her spare time. She was an avid animal lover. Cathy was the Mayor of Cybertown, an online community, for many years and made most of her friends through this community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed and loved by all who knew her.
An online memorial celebration will be held on Cathy's Facebook page on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 7pm EST. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association at action.lung.org.
