Cassandra M. Halton
November 23, 1946 — February 14, 2023
Cassandra (Ray) Halton died suddenly at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse on Valentine's Day, February 14th , 2023 in the presence of her husband of 44 years, Daniel Halton, and several extended family members and friends. She was born to Joseph E. and Marianne Ray in Cheyenne, WY on November 23, 1946.
She is predeceased by her sister Vanessa (Ray) Dungey of Oneida, NY and survived by her sister Ramona (Ray) Benedict of Lewisburg, PA.
She was a graduate of Oneida High School where she achieved recognition by the National Honor Society. After graduation from the Central City Business Institute, Syracuse she went to work for the New York State Departments of Health and later Environmental Conservation where she retired as a Principal Stenographer after 33 years of service. In 1996, Mr. and Mrs. Halton moved to the Town of Pompey, Onondaga County where she enjoyed flower gardening, her beloved Miniature Schnauser dogs and the companionship of her many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Most recently Mrs. Halton was a resident of Peregrine Senior Living Center at Onondaga Hill.
There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Cassie's name to the Onondaga County SPCA or the Salvation Army of Syracuse.
