Carol E. Devin Cooper Benedict, 90, of Mattydale died peacefully Tuesday at University Hospital. Carol was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and retired from C. E. Chappell's and Sons department store in the early 1990s.
Carol is survived by her husband George Benedict of Mattydale, her three children, Sandra (Cooper) Fadian of Syracuse, Scott (Denise) Cooper of Navarino and Barry Cooper of South Carolina; a sister Barbara Purcell of Camillus, 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be Saturday 9AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
