Carol A. Ellis, 74, of Clay, peacefully passed away Sunday at home in the presence of her family. She was a very talented violinist from a very young age, and was invited to perform with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. She retired from the Syracuse City School District in 2001 with 23 years of service. Family was the most important thing to her. She was a devoted and proud daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her former husband, John Ellis; four children, Craig Ellis, Stacey Humphrey, Serena (Mark) Hunter and Steven (Lynn) Ellis; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Humphrey, Alicia Ellis, Samantha Hunter, Mallorie Humphrey, Zachary Hunter, Mason Ellis and Owen Ellis; 5 great grandchildren, Jay, Vanessa Hunter, Lucas, Willow LaVergne, Evalynn; five siblings, Kaye Brisebois, MaryJane Doelger, Wendy Ashley, Holly Dessert and Frank Dessert; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be Thursday, 10AM at Sacred Heart Church Cicero, NY. Burial will be Friday, 12PM at Calvary Cemetery, Massena, NY.
