Carmella M. Orbino

Carmella (Ella) Mary Orbino, of N. Syracuse, went to her final reward on Friday after 103 years of devoted service to her family, church and community. Ella passed peacefully under the loving care of her niece Paula Soutar Skvarch.
Born in Syracuse on December 19, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria P. Mastropaolo. Ella was the beloved wife of the late Michael Orbino, the devoted mother of sons; Michael Orbino, North Syracuse, Gerald Orbino and wife Alexandra , Pine Ridge, FL and Patrick Orbino and wife Susan of Parker, CO. She was the sister of Genevieve O'Neill of Lakeland, NY, the late Gerald & Martin Mastropaolo and Madelin Soutar. Ella was the cherished grandmother , "Nonna" of six and great grandmother of 5 ½ (due this year)
Ella was a long time North Syracuse resident, a school traffic officer and when called upon, served as a part-time police woman. She was the first woman in the Village Police Dept. She was a long term parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary and a Lady Knight of the Columbiettes.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 7th from 9:30-10:30 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, followed by a funeral mass 11am at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church Renovation Fund or to the Food Pantry.
