Carleen L. Benz

Carleen L. Benz, 65, of Manlius, passed away January 30, 2025. Carleen was born in Syracuse, New York on July 13, 1959 to the late Carl and Sharon Simmons.

 Carleen worked for Upstate University Hospital, for over 30 years. She was an honorary member of The Graphic Four Bowling League at Strike and Spare Bowling Center. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Duke, Daisy, Hunter, Chance, Willie, and Lucy. She was a hard worker who liked to live her life simple and sweet. She was stern but fair, hard headed and not afraid to tell you how it was, but that’s what everyone loved about her. Carleen was a loving mother and caring person who opened her arms to everyone.

 She was preceded in death by father, Carl Simmons; and mother, Sharon Simmons.

 She is survived by her husband, Michael Benz; three sons, Kyle Wisowaty, Connor (Hillary) Wisowaty, Jordan (Elisabeth) Benz; brother-in-law, Ronald Benz; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 The family would like to give a special thanks to the Pompey Hill Fire Department and Tully Ambulance Corps.

 Family and friends may call on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00am. 

Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
