Carl F. Stevens passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital ICU August 14th, 2015 after years of battling serious health issues. He was 63.
Carl was born June 26th, 1952 in Niagara Falls, NY to Clifford and Mary (Schultz) Stevens (predeceased). Carl was a graduate of Niagara University and received his MBA from Clarkson University. He began his career with Hooker Chemical Company. In the early 1980s he became Vice President of Finance at Stora Papyrus (formerly Newton Falls Paper Mill). In 1997 he moved to Bradford, PA to work for Bradford Forest Products, and in 2000 transferred to Danzer Services in Pittsburgh, PA. He retired in 2010.
Carl had an incredible work ethic both in his professional life and in his home improvement projects. He is lovingly remembered for his sunny disposition, dedication to family, deep compassion, rich sense of humor and sharp wit. He remained upbeat despite his many medical challenges, and will be missed by the many lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife Meg Stevens (Syracuse, NY), son Ian Stevens (Portland, OR), daughter Hannah Stevens (Bar Harbor, ME), brother Allan and sister-in-law Joan Stevens (Oakfield, NY), stepson Joseph, Colleen, and his little peanut Audrey Williams (Syracuse, NY), stepdaughter Jennifer Williams (Watertown, NY), and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements will be with the Newcomer Funeral Home with a memorial service on Monday August 17th, 2015 at 3pm. The Newcomer Funeral Home is located at 705 North Main St., Syracuse NY 13212.
Donations can be made in memory of Carl F. Stevens to the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 973 James St. Suite 250, Syracuse NY 13203.
