Carl "Rusty" W. Adamy, 77, of Syracuse, NY passed away on June 6, 2021 at St. Camillus Nursing Home surrounded by his family. Carl was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Central Tech High School and was drafted into the United States Army in 1963, where he proudly served until he was discharged in 1966. While in the military, Carl was awarded the good conduct medal and a national defense service medal. Carl enjoyed driving cars to Florida for over 40 years. He also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling, horse races and spending time with family and friends. Carl married the love of his life, Darlene in 1970 and they were married for 50 years.
Carl was predeacesed by his wife, Darlene Adamy; mother and father, Rose and Robert Adamy; mother and father-in-law, Gertrude and Hervert VanArnam and sister-in-law, Wendy Adamy.
He is survived by his brother, Robert (Terri) Adamy; adopted brother, Charlie (Becky) Raynor; sister-in-law, Barbara Scheel; three children, Debbie (Carl) Spinner, Jr., Jason (Shawna) Adamy, Stacey (Joe) Adamy; 7 grandchildren, Carl (Samantha) Spinner III, Ashley (Jordan) Spinner, Shane Spinner, Taylor Spinner, Michael Crisalli, Sophia Garcia, Carly Garcia and four legged grandkids, Ralph, Axl and Romeo Adamy.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 16th 3-5pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. Services will be held Thursday, June 17th at 10am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals followed by a burial for Carl and Darlene in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to his family for assistance with purchasing a headstone for Darlene.
