Captain Tracy Lee (Freeman) Martin

Captain Tracy Lee (Freeman) Martin, 42, mother of three children and a beautiful wife, of Phoenix passed away unexpectedly on Sunday. Raised in Maryland, she resided in Syracuse since she was 18 years old. Tracy enlisted in the Air Force in 1986. She joined the 174th Fighter Wing Security Forces in 1999. In 2002 she earned her BS from Columbia College in six months. In 2003 she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and later took command of the 174th Security Forces Squadron, as their first ever female Commander. Tracy was an avid runner who completed four marathons. She was determined to do an Ironman Triathlon. Above all she enjoyed time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Major Timothy Martin (she was his wonderful); three children, Joshua Schroeder, Samantha Schroeder and Zachary Schroeder; father, Brian (Brenda) Freeman; mother, Martha Weeks; four siblings, Kenny Freeman, Sandy Crutcher, Charles Freeman and Erica Frazier; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and her Military Family.
Services will be Friday, 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial with full military honors will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
