C. Richard "Rick" Clere, 69 of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away on April 16, 2015 with his family by his side.
Rick was formerly of the Valley area of Syracuse.
He was born on September 9, 1945, to the late Ralph Thomas and Marjorie W. Clere.
Rick graduated from Central Technical High School in 1965. Upon graduation he worked in the air conditioning and refrigeration field. While working, he went to journeyman's school and trained as a steamfitter. He worked as a steamfitter until the mid-90's. Rick had a great capacity for love, a wonderful wit, a ready joke and an easy laugh. He enjoyed painting and spending time with his family.
Rick was predeceased by his sister Dianne Landis and his grand- daughter, Gracie Clere.
He is survived by his wife, Roselyn, his children, Sean (Lynette) Clere of Marcellus, Rebecca (John) DiFato of Syracuse, Steven (Tina) Clere of Shen Zhen, China, Scott Clere of West Palm Beach, Florida, Rachel (Michael) Francisco of Camillus and Amanda Clere of Eustis, Florida; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; step children including: Michael (Suzanne) Radford of Central Square, Theresa (David) Thomas of Brewerton, Tracy (Ronald) Ince of Bridgeport, Mark Radford of Lady Lake, Florida, Chad Norquest of Eustis, Florida; his brother Daniel (Betty) Clere of Buda, Texas, his sister Kathleen (Michael) Mooney of Skaneateles and his dear friend, Dianne Clere.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-6pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse, with a service celebrating Rick's life to follow at the funeral home.
A private burial is planned.
