C. Fred Abel, 82, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at Loretto. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He earned his undergraduate and master's degree from Syracuse University and a career sales manager for Bristol- Myers. Fred was an avid Orange fan.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Madeline Abel on May 18, 2010.
Fred is survived by his children, Diane (Steve) Fairbank of Fayetteville, Charles (Debbie) F. Abel III, of Ogdensburg, NY, and Tim (Karen) Abel of Hendersonville, TN; his grandchildren, Stacey, Tim, Collin, Kelsey and Dallas; his brother Paul Abel; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on Friday 3 p.m. at Loretto Interfaith Chapel, 700 E. Brighton Ave., Syracuse, NY 13205. Special thanks to the friends on the 6th floor of Loretto Nursing Home.
