Bruce A. Johnson, Jr. 86, passed away on Friday, after a 3 year battle with lung cancer. He was a resident of the cottages at Garden Grove previously living in North Syracuse since 2006. Bruce is previously deceased by his first wife Louise Phillips, his second wife Anne Mullin and his oldest daughter Linda Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Darrell) Randall, grandchildren, Stacey & Kyle. Stepchildren, Vicky McIntire, Brad & Bill Mullin, step grandchildren Trevor, Jessie, Megan & Zach. Along with many great grandchildren.
Bruce was a graduate of Phoenix High School where he participated in football and track. He was raised on his homestead farm in Pennellville by parents Bruce Johnson, Sr. and Anna Grace Youmans.
Bruce retired from GM in 1988 after 25 years of employment as a line worker. He always had a strong work ethic though once retired his many enjoyments involved playing Santa at Great Northern Mall, traveling, spending time with family and friends, mall walking, playing with his dog Ezzie, and his many dinners out especially at Twin Trees. Bruce will sadly be missed in all his social gatherings, though remember, always eat a desert first.
Calling hours will be on Saturday from 1-4pm at, New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services at 4pm.
Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
