Brenda Joyce Williams, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 9, at University Hospital after a long illness.
Brenda was born Aug. 21, 1943, in Gloucester, La., to Curtis and Velma Adams. She moved to Joplin, Mo., as a child and lived there most of her life. She was an LPN for almost 30 years, and at age 50 went back to school to become an RN. She loved serving her patients.
She was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center for 11 years. She is predeceased by her parents and one son, Mark.
Survivors include a son, Howard (Jane) Williams, San Antonio; a daughter, Gina (Daniel) Ogden, Syracuse; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be private. The family would appreciate any donations be made in Brenda's name to the National Kidney Association.
