Blanche Parker Lane, formerly of East Syracuse died Saturday, November 26, 2005. She was born September 23, 1921 in Geneva, NY to Norton William Parker and Rena Cash Parker. She was the stepdaughter to Merton P. Winnie of Cortland, NY. Blanche was married to the late C. Richard Lane for 62 years. Dick died in September 2003. Blanche studied piano and pipe organ at Music Conservatory. She served as organist for Memorial Baptist Church, Grace Episcopal Church and Congregational Church in Cortland and Calvary Episcopal in Homer.
Blanche is survived by three children; The Rev. Nancy Lane, Ph.D. of Elmira, Robert (Linda) Lane of Cicero and James (Ruth) Lane of Canastota; grandchildren; Lisa Hoyte, Melody (Thomas) Everett, Troy Lane, Jonathon Lane, Kimberly Lane and great grandson, Michael Everett; sister in law, Linda (Wm. Richard) Parker, Cortland; brother in laws and spouses, Donald (Viola) Lane, Locke and John (Helen) Lane, Locke; sister in law; Lucille (George) Luther of Lakeland, FL., special niece; Linda (Joe) Petrella and ten other nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brother William Richard Parker of Cortland.
Blanche was a member of the Church of the Saviour, Syracuse. Calling Hours are Wednesday from 10am-12pm at the church, 437 James St. Syracuse. A funeral Celebration of Blanche's life will follow immediately at 12:00 pm with the Rev. Gerard Beritela, Celebrant. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Memorials in Blanche's name may be made to the Church of the Saviour, 437 James Street, Syracuse, New York 13203. Messages of sympathy may be left at newcomerfamily.com.
