Blanche Adkins
August 16, 1932 — January 6, 2022
Blanche Mary (Adams) Adkins, 89, passed away on January 6, 2022. Blanche was a Depression baby born at home in Union, WV
to Clad and Dottie Adams. Blanche left home at the age of 16 to go off on her own (1948).
She is survived by her son, Allen Brainard Adkins -Jean Adkins (Towne) of Syracuse, NY; her daughter, Katheleen Jane Stone-Johnson and her husband, Michael Richards of Worchester, Ma; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Blanche was an advid SU fan and booster who traveled with the team throughout the US with her life long companion, Robert Sweet. She also traveled to Europe visiting Italy, Spain, France and Great Britain.
Blanche suffered from dementia over the last 5-6 years. The last 12 months being the most difficult for her and the last three being her most difficult and painful.
Blanche is now in a better place away from the pain, confusion and loss of body mass.
May she rest in Peace.
There will be no immediate services- a small memorial dinner will be planned in the Spring.
