Beverly J. Shephard

Beverly J. Shephard, of Bridgeport, a faithful wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday after a long illness.
She was born on Apr. 17, 1935 in Bridgeport to the late Frank and Julia Bryant. She graduated from Chittenango High School in 1954. Beverly worked for Carrier and then General Electric as an executive secretary. Later, she worked for Bridgeport Crating Company as a bookkeeper. Finally, Beverly worked for 16 years at Burlington Coat Factory in Cicero. Beverly loved knitting and crochet, listening to the radio, and studying her Bible. Beverly was the most kind and self-sacrificing person that you would ever meet. She loved the company of her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and sisters whenever she could. She was a Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader and her life was all of her children's activities. She also taught Sunday School when her children were little and was foundational in their spiritual development. Beverly's home was always open and she would take people in for short periods of time when they needed help.
Predeceased by her sisters, Frances Leo and Patricia Strauss and her former husband, Gary L. Shephard, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Gary L. Jr. (Kim) Shephard, Gregory L. (Amanda) Shephard, Roger E. (Meg) Shephard and Susan M. (Michael) Bell; grandchildren, Faye, Collin, Joseph, Samantha, Connor, Cheyenne, Dylan, Olivia, Christopher, and Mason; her siblings, Connie (Joe) Klenotich, Betty Arcaro, Phyllis (Charles) Stoddard, and Frank Jr. (Sandy) Bryant and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 4-7pm with a funeral service following at 7pm Tuesday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
