Beverly C. Hennessy

Beverly C. Hennessy, 89, of Syracuse, passed away December 17, 2021.

Beverly was born and raised in the Valley section of Syracuse on January 6, 1932 to the late Alton and Helena Coon.

Beverly retired from Unity Mutual Life Insurance Company after many years as an executive secretary. An avid reader, Bev was fiercely independent but kind, fun and loving. She was deeply dedicated to her five granddaughters, often gathering them for dinners and overnights. She always enjoyed being with friends, whether it be traveling to Surfside, SC, playing a game of pitch, or simply having a glass of white wine and conversation.

She was predeceased by her loving Husband, Richard L. Hennessy; Brothers, Richard and David Coon; Sister, Muriel Conroy; stepson, Brian Hennessy.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Laurie) Smith and Peter (Mary) Smith; five granddaughters, Sarah, Bridget, Alison, Molly and Greta; several nieces and nephews; as well as Richard's children, Richard Jr., Mark and Melissa.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 10 – 11 AM at the Syracuse Alliance Church, 3112 Midland Ave, Syracuse. A service will follow at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of CNY.
