Betty J. McNamara, 81, of North Syracuse, passed away on Saturday at Upstate University Hospital. She was born on January 10, 1931 in Liverpool, daughter of Kenneth and Avis Body. Betty was last employed at the Syracuse City School District for 35 years. Betty enjoyed playing golf with her husband and with the Woodside Ladies in Palm Bay, FL. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, William McNamara, son, David (Lori) McNamara and 2 grandchildren; Stacy & Shaun, a brother Robert Body and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers; Bill & Earl Body.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with a brief service to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations to Upstate University Hospital.
