Betty Irene "Mae" Tehon

Betty Irene "Mae" Tehon, of Cicero, NY died peacefully at home after a brief battle with cancer. She was 87 years old. Born and raised in Watseka, IL, Betty married Dr. Stephen Tehon in Boston in 1942. They moved to New York in 1952. She was a homemaker and spent much of her free time working for the PTA, Syracuse Symphony, Hospital North and the Red Cross. After her girls were grown, she worked at and retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. Betty is most famous for opening her home to friends and family from near and far, and arranging outings for large groups of friends. She was predeceased by by her husband, Dr. Stephen W. Tehon in November of 2009.
She is survived by her five daughters, Chloe Ann O'Neil of Parishville, NY, Susan E. Tehon of Saranac Lake, NY, Rebecca L. Tehon of Brewerton, NY, and Penelope S. O'Brien of Massena, NY and Candace L. Ardizzone of Clay, NY; sister-in-laws, Atha Tehon Thiras of East Syracuse, NY and Betty Albright of Kankakee, IL; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A memorial service and reception is planned for the Spring.
