Bertha Thomas, 88, of Liverpool, New York formerly of Long Island passed on Thursday, May 17, 2012 to join her husband Robert L. Thomas, Jr.
Bertha retired from Grumman Aerospace in 1984, she received a certificate of recognition from J.C. Penny at the age of 72 and officially retired at 82.
Bertha loved music, singing and dancing. She knew every Frank Sinatra song by heart and she met him in person the night of her Prom. She always had a great sense of humor with a warm and caring smile. Bertha was truly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband, parents and four brothers.
She is survived by her son, Keith (Diana) Thomas and children, Jennifer, Sean and Scott; daughter, Susan (Frank) Carleo and children, SSGT Terrence W. Buckman, F. J., Kyle and Morgan; daughter, Beth (Jake) Smorol and children, Angel and Isaiah; son, Kevin Thomas and children Kevin, II and Nicolas; four great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM on Monday, May 21, 2012 with services to follow at 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island.
