Bernice E. Johnson

Bernice Johnson, 96, of Chittenango, NY, passed away on August 25, 2024 at Iroquois Nursing Home. She was born on April 18, 1928 to the late Howard and Martha Thayer. She loved her children so much. She loved to cook and bake her famous apple dumplings, rhubarb desserts and pumpkin cookies; And we can’t forget the cherry pies that she used to make special for Jerry, when she knew he was coming up. She loved to crochet, knit, play bingo and go to garage sales. She absolutely loved to play the game “Jokers”. 

She is survived by her sons, Steve and Jerry (Lisa) Johnson; daughter, Dianne (Richard) Moore; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; great-greatgrandchildren; and nieces, Lori, Lois and Betty. 

She is predeceased by her husband, Herbert Johnson and her daughter, Donna Brayen. 

A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango, NY on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11am.
